Washington Bridge Update
As part of our ongoing repairs to the closed westbound portion of the Washington Bridge, work continues on enhancing the pier walls that support the anchor rods and the evaluation of the bridge’s condition overall. Today our traffic engineers updated the traffic signal times at Point Street and Eddy Street and Point Street and Richmond Street. They are now running in coordination, which should help ease congestion on these streets during rush hour. Additionally, today is the last day of service on the Bristol to Providence Ferry.
Through our overall Washington Bridge project, we continue to remove the concrete arches, bridge deck and parapets. We are also scheduled to do earthwork and install drainage and sewer lines at the Waterfront Drive on-ramp to I-195 West.
