Rhode Island Department of Education to Host Statewide Education Job Fair Saturday
Prospective job candidates can meet with over 40 education employers
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor Dan McKee, Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) would like to remind individuals who are seeking employment in the education field of the upcoming in-person Statewide Education Job Fair, happening on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick. The event is the second fair this year and will allow those seeking employment opportunities to meet with over 40 education employers including local education agencies (LEAs), higher education institutions and preparatory programs, and transportation and food service providers.
“Educators play a vital role in shaping Rhode Island’s future,” said Governor Dan McKee. “With these job fairs, we are not just offering careers but opening opportunities to make a difference in our students’ lives. I encourage those looking for rewarding opportunities to attend this event.”
“As we continue to recover from post-pandemic learning losses, it is critical more than ever that we are recruiting aspiring educators and allowing them to explore the career opportunities that Rhode Island has to offer,” said Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green. “We are thrilled to be hosting our second in-person job fair of 2024 in order to help our districts meet the needs of all students. We encourage community members and prospective candidates to attend the job fairs and peruse the rewarding opportunities that lay before them.”
To help connect job seekers with opportunities in education, RIDE has held several in-person and online job fairs. More than 430 job candidates attended the first statewide, multi-day job fair last year. RIDE will be hosting another virtual job fair on August 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
RIDE has further demonstrated its commitment to attracting world-class talent by launching Educate401.org, an online recruitment and resource hub for current and prospective educators. The website highlights the best of Rhode Island and offers a user-friendly certification road map that guides aspiring teachers through the process of becoming certified educators in Rhode Island.
Interested candidates are asked to register for the June in-person job fair here. The event will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza located at 801 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886. Job candidates and organizations can direct questions to Julianne.Meiu@ride.ri.gov.
