The Rhode Island Coalition for Arts & Preservation will join Governor Dan McKee and several additional elected leaders next week to urge Rhode Islanders to vote YES on Question 5 this Election season.

Passage of Question 5, the Cultural Economy Initiatives Bond Measure, will authorize the State to issue bonds of $10 million to support construction and renovation projects at arts and cultural organizations operating across Rhode Island.

Trinity Repertory Company, Tomaquag Museum and Newport Contemporary Ballet are named organizations in the bond referendum; each would receive $2 million to support capital projects.

Additionally, the bond referendum calls for $4 million to continue the Cultural Arts & Economy Grant Program, which is administered by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. This program has supported more than 60 arts and cultural organizations through 1:1 matching grants since 2014.

About Yes on 5:

The Rhode Island Coalition for Arts & Preservation is a coalition of art and historic preservation organizations from across Rhode Island working together in support of Question 5, which will be on the Rhode Island Special Election ballot on Tuesday, November 5
