Week of December 2, 2024

PROVIDENCE, RI — Acknowledging the importance of consistent attendance in education and in alignment with the #AttendanceMattersRI campaign, Governor Dan McKee and Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green are pleased to highlight the top elementary, middle, and high schools with the greatest average weekly attendance.

The following schools are Rhode Island’s attendance leaders for the week of December 2, 2024*:

  • Elementary: The Compass School – 97.3%
  • Middle: Barrington Middle School – 95.9%
  • High School: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts (TAPA)** – 97%

The Governor and Commissioner express their gratitude and encouragement to all schools in Rhode Island for their ongoing efforts to prioritize attendance and reinforce the value of consistent learning experiences for all students.

Schools with the most improved average attendance rates were not included this week due to the Thanksgiving week break.

*As of Wednesday, December 11 at 10 a.m.

**Schools with multiple grade levels (i.e. elementary and middle school) are categorized by RIDE by their largest population
