Delta Dental of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Foundation will join Governor Dan McKee, House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi, Senate President Val Lawson and leaders from the state’s oral health sector for a ceremony honoring the inaugural recipients of the Delta Dental of Rhode Island Dentist Loan Repayment Program on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Rhode Island State House,
Governor’s State Room (Second Floor) at 10:00 a.m. .
Launched in 2025 and funded through a $5 million investment from Delta Dental of Rhode Island, this program aims to strengthen the local oral health care workforce by providing student loan repayment assistance to early career dentists who commit to practicing full-time in the state and helping to meet the dental needs of underserved Rhode Islanders.
Awardees will receive up to $20,000 in student loan repayment assistance per year for up to three years, provided they continue to practice full-time in Rhode Island throughout their participation in the program.
Awardees were recommended for the program by an independent Application Review Committee managed by the Rhode Island Foundation and made up of leading experts in the state’s oral health sector.
