Mayor Brett Smiley to Host St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with Traditional Irish Music
Councilor Vincent McCormack, Mayor of Athlone – Moate District to Join Providence’s Celebration
PROVIDENCE, RI- Mayor Brett P. Smiley alongside the Providence City Council invites the Providence community for a celebration of Irish culture with traditional Irish music and food as the City of Providence hosts this year’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Providence City Hall.
The celebration will take place today at 12:00 PM in the City Council Chambers. This year’s celebration will be joined by the distinguished delegation from Athlone, Ireland including Councilor Vincent McCormack, Mayor of Athlone – Moate District. This event will feature performances by the Goulding School of Irish Dance, LaSalle Academy Chorus and the Coláiste Chiaráin High School Chorus from Athlone, Ireland. Traditional pipes and drums will be performed by Debbie Kane and the Highlanders Pipe Band.
Mayor Smiley will present the Providence St. Patrick Day Parade Committee, performers, 2026 Grand Marshal Donald Kavanagh and 2026 Deputy Grand Marshal Brendan Doherty with citations to recognize all their contributions to the City.
Providence City Councilwoman Jo-Ann Ryan will serve as Master of Ceremonies and Councilor Vincent McCormack will provide a keynote address.
