AAA: Rhode Island Gas Prices Up Three Cents
Providence, R.I., February 15, 2021 — Rhode Island’s average gas price is up three cents from last week ($2.43), averaging $2.46 per gallon. Today’s price is 13 cents higher than a month ago ($2.33) and 2 cents cheaper than February 15, 2020 ($2.48). Rhode Island’s average gas price is 4 cents lower than the national average.
“The pandemic discount is almost gone as prices locally are just a few pennies less than they were a year ago at this time,” said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Northeast. “Despite demand being down, production cuts are keeping oil prices from falling, leading to higher prices for consumers at the pump.”
