Amo Leads Push for Transparency on Brown University Shooting
Congressman Amo represents Brown University and is leading 32 colleagues to demand answers on the investigation
Providence, RI – TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI), a member of the Congressional Gun Violence Prevention Taskforce, who represents Brown University in Congress, led 32 of his colleagues calling for a Congressional briefing from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on the status of the investigation into the tragic December 13, 2025 mass shooting at Brown University.
The Members write in a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel and ATF Acting Director Daniel P. Driscoll:
“We write concerning the tragic mass shooting at Brown University on December 13, 2025, where two students were murdered and nine were wounded. Thanks to the hard work of local, state, and federal law enforcement, including the Boston Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the individual responsible for this heinous crime has been identified.”
“On behalf of our constituents, we request that appropriate representatives from the FBI and ATF provide us with a briefing. We seek to learn more about developments in the case, including how the individual responsible for this crime obtained a firearm and other details relevant to our oversight responsibilities.”
