New routes will be the first time PVD has offered nonstop service to the popular coastal destinations

Warwick, RI – August 7, 2024 – Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) welcomed the news that Breeze Airways will launch new service to Daytona Beach, Florida and Wilmington, North Carolina, from Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport in 2025. Service to both Daytona Beach (DAB) and Wilmington International Airport (ILM) will begin on Friday, February 14, 2025, with service available weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

“Providence has been a fantastic market for us, and we continue to see more opportunities for growth,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ Founder and CEO. “As TF Green’s largest commercial carrier by destinations, we’re happy to be bringing more routes with our affordable, elevated, and premium leisure service.”

“Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport is proud to serve as one of Breeze Airways largest base of operations, and we are thrilled to have new nonstop connections to Daytona Beach and Wilmington,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “These two popular east coast destinations will be welcome additions to Breeze Airways growing nonstop service for Southeastern New England.”

The new routes mark the first time Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport has offered nonstop service to either destination. Daytona Beach International Airport, located just minutes from popular Daytona Beach destinations, is within walking distance of the Daytona International Speedway, which hosts the Daytona 500 on February 16, 2025. Wilmington International Airport is located just miles from the shoreline and is easily accessible for the numerous businesses and military facilities along North Carolina’s southern coastline.

Breeze Airways, which was recently ranked in the top five of Travel + Leisure’s “Best Domestic Airlines” for the third year in a row, began selling service from just 16 cities, including Providence, Rhode Island, in May 2021. Since then, the airline has seen tremendous demand for its unique “premium leisure” model that marries efficiency and affordability with comfort and accessibility. In 2023, Breeze Airways announced that it would make Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport a base of operations, and in 2024, Breeze Airways selected PVD, one of its most active airports, as a hub of east coast operations with plans to expand service to Southern New England significantly over the next several years.
