“Calling All Classic Cars”
Woonsocket Summer Car Cruise Rolls Back to Market Square for Monday Night Event
Woonsocket, R.I.: Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced today that Woonsocket’s popular Summer Car Cruise will return this Monday, June 28 to Market Square at 25 South Main Street from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. This free event is open to the public and will feature classic cars, live
music by All About Amy, and food trucks. All classic car owners are welcome to drive to Market Square and put their cars on display. An added feature of Monday’s event will be a “pop-up” vaccination clinic administered by the Rhode Island National Guard. Vaccine recipients at this event will be able to sign up for their second vaccine dose at a future Monday night Summer Car Cruise show later this summer.
Mayor Baldelli-Hunt stated, “Last year was not easy for our car enthusiasts who were shut-in because of the pandemic, so we wanted to begin this summer with a Summer Car Cruise to help them make up for lost time and start having fun again.” The Mayor also offered, “Everyone loves our outdoor classic car cruises and there will be no better place than Market Square this Monday to reacquaint with old friends and make some new ones while listening to live music, having a snack and appreciating the beauty of classic cars.” Mayor Baldelli-Hunt added, “This will also be a great occasion for our unvaccinated residents and visitors to get their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and to sign up for their second dose to be administered at a future car cruise event. Getting vaccinated while attending our Summer Car Cruise is a win-win opportunity to take advantage of on a beautiful summer’s evening.”
