PAWTUCKET – With the successful launch of the City of Pawtucket’s newest City Calendar, the City is once again inviting the community to help shape what comes next. Mayor Donald R. Grebien, Photo Contest Organizer Patricia S. Zacks, and the City of Pawtucket are now calling on residents, students, and visitors to submit theme ideas for the 2027 Pawtucket City Calendar.
Each year, a unique theme is selected to guide the City’s annual photo contest, which draws hundreds of submissions from amateur and professional photographers, as well as Pawtucket students. The selected images are featured prominently in the City Calendar, showcasing Pawtucket through the lens of those who know and love it best.
“Our goal is to continue engaging the community in a meaningful and creative way,” said Zacks. “Inviting the public to suggest the theme allows residents to help shape the direction of the calendar and the photo exhibit as a whole. The individual who submits the winning theme will be recognized in the calendar, making this a truly collaborative effort.”
Mayor Donald R. Grebien praised the contest as an opportunity to celebrate Pawtucket’s identity and creativity. “This photo contest encourages students, residents, and visitors to highlight Pawtucket’s character, history, and beauty from many different perspectives,” said Mayor Grebien. “As a proud arts community, Pawtucket thrives on creative expression, and this calendar is one of the many ways our community helps tell the story of our city.”
Submitted themes will help guide photographers as professional judges review entries, looking for originality, creativity, and subjects that offer fresh perspectives not featured in previous years. Past calendar themes have included:
