PAWTUCKET – The City of Pawtucket is excited to announce the upcoming Bulky Waste Drop-Off Events, designed to provide residents with an opportunity to declutter and dispose of large items free of charge. These events will take place on June 15, 2024, at the Pawtucket Transfer Station located at 240 Grotto Ave, and on June 22, 2024, at the Department of Public Works situated at 250 Armistice Blvd. Both events will run from 8 am to 1 pm.
The Bulky Waste Drop-Off Events are exclusive to Pawtucket residents and aim to facilitate the removal of bulky waste items from homes and neighborhoods. Residents must present a valid license displaying an address within the City of Pawtucket to participate. Please note that items such as fridges, freezers, loose trash, general construction, or commercial waste will not be accepted.
“The Bulky Waste Drop-Off Events represent a proactive step towards fostering a sense of community pride and environmental stewardship,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien, “by offering this service free of charge, we aim to make it easier for residents to contribute to the beautification of Pawtucket.”
The City’s Supervisor of Sewers, Sanitation & Recycling, Gabriel Camara Jr, remarked, “Everyone will get an opportunity to do their spring cleaning without the cost. By removing this barrier, we are hopeful that it will lead to a cleaner, greener Pawtucket.”
The guidelines for bulky waste disposal at the Grotto Ave Transfer Station will be followed at these events. Residents are encouraged to review the provided flyer for disposal guidelines and accepted items. For inquiries regarding disposal guidelines or items not explicitly listed, please contact the Department of Public Works (DPW) at (401)-728-0500 extension 233 or via email at dpw@pawtucketri.gov.
