Dr. Steven Corvi Announces Run as Republican for Rhode Island’s Second Congressional District
(Warwick, RI) Dr. Steven Corvi of Warwick has officially filed to run for Rhode Island’s Second Congressional District as a Republican. A formal campaign launch event will be held Saturday, April 13th at 3 PM Eastern Time at Rocky Point State Park in Warwick, RI.
Dr. Corvi has worked as an adjunct history lecturer for over 25 years at various universities including The United States Naval War College, Northeastern University, and Bentley University among many others.
“Our country and Rhode Island are in desperate need of new voices,” said Dr. Corvi “I will represent the people of the 2nd congressional district as someone who is an average American. The last thing we need is another career politician.”
Dr. Corvi has experienced first-hand how rising prices have squeezed average Americans. “I shop for my groceries every Sunday and have felt prices rise on goods over the past two years,” he said. “Reckless spending in Washington and Providence are the clear culprits. This hurts everyone in our community: senior citizens, blue-collar workers, families, college students, and small businesses.”
“My father came to this country legally from Italy in 1951. I am a strong and fervent believer in immigration, but what is going on at our Southern border is out of control. We cannot treat illegal immigrants better than our own citizens. I am all for people seeking a better life, and there is a place for that in America, but they must do so through the legal process. We need to institute a merit-based immigration policy.”
“We are running this campaign to give average Americans an advocate to fight for their interests. My only goal in this race is to improve the lives of the people in my district. I see the struggles that Rhode Islanders and many Americans are facing and I felt the need to do something. That’s why I’m running. I can no longer stand by and watch. I often tell my students that we fail to learn from the mistakes of history. I will not make that same mistake.”
“I am excited about the opportunity to work alongside other Republicans in Rhode Island to end decades of democrat mismanagement and control as we take back our state in November. “
