Governor McKee Announced Legal Team
Governor McKee introduced this Friday morning the legal team that will pursue legal action against anyone who might be responsible for the failure of the westbound Washington Bridge.
McKee hired private attorneys Max Wistow and Jonathan Savage. The men are two of Rhode Island’s most prominent attorneys which both played roles in the 38 Studios fiasco.
“As we stand here today, we want to make it very clear any responsible parties will be held fully accountable,” McKee said. “This marks the next step toward achieving this goal.”
Wistow said one of the conditions of him agreeing to join the legal team was that the “governor made it absolutely clear that there were no restrictions whatsoever on who could be a defendant in the case.”
“I’ve been assured by governor that we’ll be totally supported,” Wistow said. “The chips are going to fall where they may.”
“Our mandate is to leave no stone unturned and follow the facts and pursue the facts aggressively and quickly to a result that we are hopeful will be a positive result for the taxpayers of the state of Rhode Island,” Savage said.
