PROVIDENCE, RI – Governor Dan McKee today announced the launch of a statewide virtual support hub to assist all communities impacted by the devastating shooting at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket.

The website, Governor.RI.gov/SupportHub, will serve as a centralized resource for people across the state who are seeking support in the aftermath of the tragedy. The hub provides information on available virtual and in-person mental health services, domestic violence supports, and guidance for families and school leaders on how to talk with students and children who may be struggling.

“Too many Rhode Islanders know what it feels like to lose a loved one, a neighbor, or a friend to gun violence—and too many have experienced the tragedy of domestic violence in their everyday lives,” said Governor Dan McKee. “In cities and towns across Rhode Island, many members of our community are struggling right now. I want them to know we are here to support you.”

Governor McKee has directed agencies across his administration to work in close coordination with community partners such as  Family Service of RI, Tides Family Services, RI’s Family Care Community Partnerships, the RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence, RI’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, and others to ensure resources are accessible to communities statewide, both in schools and in the community. State agencies involved in this effort include the RI Emergency Management Agency, RI Department of Education, RI Executive Office of Health and Human Services, RI Department of Health, RI Department of Children, Youth & Families, and RI Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Disabilities and Hospitals.

“I want to thank the community partners, state agencies, and municipal leaders from all impacted communities for working together to ensure Rhode Islanders have the support they need during this unimaginably difficult time for our state. The outpouring of support has been truly moving,” Governor McKee continued.

The support hub will continue to be updated to reflect additional services and resources as they become available.
