GOVERNOR MCKEE, SENATORS REED AND WHITEHOUSE TO JOIN RIDOT TO MARK COMPLETION OF THE I-95 PROVIDENCE VIADUCT NORTHBOUND PROJECT
On Friday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m., Governor Dan McKee, U.S. Senator Jack Reed and U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) Director Peter Alviti, Jr. will join other federal, state and local officials to mark the completion of the I-95 Providence Viaduct Northbound Project. In addition to replacing the nearly 1,300-foot long Viaduct, RIDOT rebuilt 10 bridges and constructed a new service road to alleviate chronic congestion and safety concerns associated with entrance and exit ramps that were spaced too closely together.
The event will take place on the second floor of the Veterans Memorial Auditorium (VMA), 1 Avenue of the Arts, Providence. The event space affords a direct view of the highway. Parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to the VMA – please use the entrance off Park Street.
