Magaziner Statement on Trump Administration’s Cancellation of Mental Health and Addiction Grants
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, U.S. Representative Seth Magaziner (RI-02) released the following statement following reports that the Trump Administration issued termination letters for up to $2 billion in grants for mental health and addiction services including to Rhode Island providers.
“The overdose crisis continues to threaten the lives of many Rhode Islanders. It is unconscionable that the Trump Administration intends to cut funding from programs that save the lives of those struggling with addiction.
I will fight back against these cuts to lifesaving programs that support people struggling with addiction, mental illness, and homelessness.”
