Mayor Donald Grebien’s Statement Re: Yesterday’s Homicide In Pawtucket

he following statement may be attributed to Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien:

Yesterday afternoon, Pawtucket experienced another gun related homicide, the second in the past week. Our hearts go out to the families impacted by this senseless violence.

I want to thank the Pawtucket Police Department for their quick response apprehending the suspect in yesterday’s incident.

Gun violence is an issue our community needs to confront, and that is why for years the Pawtucket Police Department has worked in concert with the Institute for Nonviolence to teach de-escalation and nonviolence techniques. We all need to work together – elected leaders, public safety officials, community leaders, and youth – to address and reduce the terrible toll of gun violence.
