PROVIDENCE, RI- Today, Mayor-elect Brett Smiley announced additional Department Director appointments that will begin serving with the new Administration in January.

 

“I’m incredibly proud of the team that we are building and the quality of the candidates who have expressed interest in coming on board,” said Mayor-elect Brett Smiley. “I am excited to announce these individuals as key members of my administration, and know that together, we bring invaluable experiences and knowledge to city government.”

 

Patricia Coyne-Fague will serve as Director of Public Works. Coyne-Fague has over thirty years of experience in public service, most recently serving as the Director of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (DOC) since 2018. In her tenure, she led a department with a $265 million budget and oversaw 1,300 staff members to ensure safe facilities and efficient services.

 

Stephen Grace will join the administration as the Director of Recreation. Grace most recently has served as Coordinator of Student Support for Providence Public Schools, and served a number of capacities in Boston Public Schools. Grace brings expertise in youth development, supporting students through critical transition years and facilitating a wide range of support services to students in need.

 

Jonathan Martin will join the Smiley Administration as Director of Public Property. Martin has 21 years of experience within the military field in high-functioning management roles focused on strategic planning, operations management, logistics, leadership development, and budgeting. Martin has most recently worked as Senior Training Manager and Military Professor in the U.S. Army.

 

Joe Wilson Jr. will serve as the Director of Art, Culture + Tourism (ACT). Wilson has been a company member at Providence’s Trinity Repertory Company for 17 years. Wilson, who has been an integral part of Providence’s unique and world-renowned arts scene, brings first-hand knowledge of the city’s strengths and potential to grow our arts community.

 

Each of these additions will be critical to Mayor-elect Smiley’s vision of providing excellent city services. These appointments are coupled with the following Department Directors that have been reappointed and will join the new Administration in the following capacities:

  • Dante Bellini, City & School Controller

  • Stephany Lopes, Director of Licensing & City Registrar

  • Lawrence Mancini, Chief Financial Officer

  • Janesse Muscatelli, Tax Assessor

  • Wendy Nilsson, Superintendent of Parks

  • Dr. Silas Pinto, Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

  • Sue Robbio, Director of Senior Services

  • Sara Silveria, Director of Finance

  • Jim Silveria, Chief Information Officer

  • Alejandro Tirado, Associate Director of Purchasing

 

Additional open positions will be posted on www.providenceri.gov and interviews will be scheduled in the coming weeks.
