New England Tech and the City of Pawtucket Collaborate on Scholarship Initiative
New England Institute of Technology and the Pawtucket College Readiness Initiative Offer Scholarships to Eligible Pawtucket Resident
East Greenwich, RI – New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), in collaboration with the City of Pawtucket, is offering scholarship opportunities to Pawtucket high school students, recent graduates, and adult learners interested in advancing their education with a New England Tech degree. All Pawtucket residents who meet NEIT’s general admission requirements will receive the Pawtucket Scholarship.
This scholarship program is designed to help high school seniors or recent graduates with financial need aspire to a college education. Adult learners will acquire new skills that will allow them to advance in their current position, qualify for new employment opportunities, or re-tool their skill set to pursue a change in career paths. Whether a traditional aged student or an adult learner, NEIT’s academic programs will prepare them for the rigors of today’s competitive labor market.
New England Tech encourages Pawtucket residents to apply soon and is awarding Pawtucket Scholarships for the fall term until September 27, 2024.Classes begin on September 30, 2024.
Funding will come from the City of Pawtucket and New England Tech. All Pawtucket residents are eligible for the scholarship, including students who are currently enrolled at NEIT. For those students who are Pell Grant eligible, the Pawtucket Scholarship will match the students’ Pell Grant award.
To date, New England Tech has issued more than 130 award letters to Pawtucket applicants. Scholarships will be awarded to all Pawtucket students who are admitted and choose to attend the university. NEIT offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs all with a focus on experiential learning. State-of-the-art classrooms and high-tech labs engage students with extensive hands-on training in the program of their choice.
“Since I came into office fourteen years ago, I have constantly stressed the need for our city to prioritize education,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “The City of Pawtucket has had the opportunity to work closely with NEIT over the last few years, and more recently with them in the College Readiness Initiative. This program truly allows our Pawtucket students to further their education at an affordable rate. I am thankful to Alan Resnick and the team at NEIT for their efforts and look forward to working with them in the future.”
New England Tech also offers high school seniors the opportunity to enroll in its All Course Network (ACN) program, based upon availability, which provides college credits, along with college-readiness coaching, technical camps, internships, and real-world preparation for employment opportunities.
NEIT and the City of Pawtucket also offer an Early College program where high school seniors attend New England Tech college-level courses and receive NEIT credits. The NEIT/Pawtucket Initiative Scholarships are available to Early College students who choose to continue with their NEIT degrees after high school.

Recent high school graduates and adult learners can choose from programs in nursing and other health careers, building design and construction, and many varied technologies including, engineering technologies, digital technologies such as cybersecurity IT, web and graphic design, and automotive technologies. With either an associate or bachelor’s degree, graduates will have a head start to a great and rewarding career.
