The Rhode Island Providence Police Department and Latino Public Radio delivered hundreds of toys to children in the city of Moca, Dominican Republic.

Providence Police Officer Alex Diaz, President of Blue Heart Game Changers International, said that this activity was carried out for the children of the community where he was born, raised and played in the different sports clubs.

“We do this every year for the community and the children, so that they have a fun time with their friends, family and their toys to entertain themselves with.” This is the second time we have delivered gifts in Moca.

This activity allows us to bring many smiles to the children and  it is share with the North American police officers.

The new organization, known by its acronym in English as BHGCI, is a partnership between Latino Public Radio (LPR) and Providence police officers. “We decided to do something for the children, instead of sitting around and just spending time playing basketball with our colleagues during this humanitarian mission,” said Alex. “We want to give toys and food to the children as a sign of love and hope.”
