Alexandria Evers Named 2024 Rhode Island Cherry Blossom Princess Delegate
Crowning Ceremony On March 20th
Blackstone Valley Tourism Council, the State Society of Rhode Island, and the Rhode Island Japan American Society are pleased to announce that Cumberland native, Alexandria Evers is the 2024 Rhode Island Cherry Blossom Princess and will represent our state at the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Evers will be crowned Rhode Island’s 2024 Cherry Blossom Princess by Rhode Island Governor, the Honorable Daniel McKee in a ceremony on March 20 at 9 AM at Shark’s Event Center, 1420 Broad Street, Central Falls.
Alexandria Evers, a Cumberland, Rhode Island native, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rhode Island in 2021 with a B.S. in Health Studies and a B.A. in Political Science, accompanied by a minor in Leadership. During her time at URI, she held various leadership roles, including URI 101 Freshmen Mentor, Resident Advisor, and Student Senate representative, overseeing university-sponsored student organizations. Her senior year she was a 2021 Rhode Island State Intern, where she led a team in analyzing health data and proposing solutions for a statewide issue.
Beyond campus, Alexandria has been an active member of her community. She’s advocated for education at municipal meetings, volunteered with nonprofits, and presently serves as a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission in Cumberland. Currently, Alexandria runs a freelance social media management business while also being an avid traveler. Alexandria has been recognized with several leadership awards, including the RI Congressional Leadership Award and the Rhode Island Secretary of State Civil Leadership Award.
