Amo Statement on Passage of Landmark Bipartisan Housing Affordability Bill

Washington, DC – TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI-01) issued the following statement after voting for the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act:

“Every Rhode Islander deserves a safe, affordable place to live. But right now, the cost of housing is too high. 

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is a critical step toward lowering housing costs and ensuring everyone has a roof over their heads. 

It will encourage local communities to build more housing, help people renovate their older homes, and eliminate red tape that holds up housing permitting and construction. 

More housing means lower costs and more opportunity for Rhode Islanders to pursue the American Dream, which is why I’m proud to help pass this bipartisan bill in the House.
