Amo Statement on Voting to Keep Government Open

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) released the following statement:

“Tonight, I voted to keep our government open, deliver critical aid to disaster-affected communities, and support farmers who feed America. This overwhelming voter is a recognition that our most basic responsibility can and should transcend partisanship,” said Congressman Gabe Amo. “For Rhode Island, it will create jobs, extend vital telehealth flexibilities for Medicare beneficiaries, and ensure our government continues to provide essential services and programs.

“Keeping our government open is a win for hardworking Americans and a rejection of Elon Musk’s temper tantrum. Though America won tonight, we will need to continue to remain vigilant against the pursuit of tax cuts for billionaires and harmful reductions to key programs like Medicare and Social Security.”
