CRANSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT TO HONOR FALLEN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ON MAY 10TH AT THE ANNUAL POLICE MEMORIAL CEREMONY

The Cranston Police Department will pay tribute to fallen officers during the annual Police Memorial Ceremony scheduled for Friday, May 10th at 10:00 am in front of Cranston Police Headquarters.

Friday’s honors are one of many commemorative events taking place throughout the country during the longstanding tradition of National Law Enforcement Memorial Week, May 2024. Communities across the U.S. will come together May 12th thru May 18th to honor and remember those law enforcement officers from across the United States who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the family members,
friends, and fellow officers they left behind.

Cranston Police Department Chief of Police, Colonel Michael J. Winquist, will deliver the keynote address, along with remarks from Mayor Kenneth Hopkins. Additionally, the Cranston Police Honor Guard will conduct the ceremonial honors. Colonel Michael J. Winquist stated, “Every year we continue to honor heroic and brave officers from the Cranston Police Department and from across the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as those officers who continue to serve despite the inherent risks associated with the profession. These Officers will never be forgotten and our prayers are with their families, friends and Officers from their respective police departments.”

This special memorial ceremony is open to all members of the public and all are welcome with refreshments following the annual event.
