First Lady Will Also Mark Earth Day With Launch of “Keep Rhody Litter Free” Campaign
PROVIDENCE, RI – On Friday, April 22, at 1:30 pm, Governor Dan McKee will be joined by First Lady Susan McKee, Lt. Governor Sabina Matos, Rhode Island Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti, Rhode Island Public Transit Authority CEO Scott Avedisian, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Acting Director Terrence Gray, East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva, and Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful Director Donna Kaehler to kick off “Keep Rhody Litter Free,” a year-round campaign designed to encourage state agencies, individuals, businesses, communities, schools and youth groups to join in the effort to eliminate litter in Rhode Island.
Following the announcement, the Governor, Lt. Governor, First Lady, and department directors will take part in an Earth Day cleanup at the Route 44 Park and Ride in East Providence.
