PROVIDENCE, RI – Today, Governor Dan McKee nominated Carol Lombardi to serve on the Rhode Island Convention Center Authority’s Board of Directors. The Authority is an 11-member board that operates the Rhode Island Convention & Entertainment Complex, which includes the Rhode Island Convention Center, the Amica Mutual Pavilion, and the Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
“Carol Lombardi is a proven, creative leader who brings knowledge, insight, and a personal touch to high-end, exciting events across our state,” said Governor Dan McKee. “I’m confident Carol’s experience and expertise will play a vital role as we continue to entice major events, concerts, sporting competitions, and shows to bring their entertainment right here to Rhode Island.”
Carol Lombardi has decades of experience in event planning, design, and catering. A 1967 graduate of Johnson and Wales University, Lombardi is currently an independent contractor at Carol Benedetti Events in North Providence, which provides event consulting for social and business occasions and celebrations.
Lombardi previously co-owned Gatehouse Catering Company and Atmosfere Ltd., both of which specialized in high-end event planning.
“I’m very grateful to Governor McKee for nominating me and excited to join the RI Convention Center Authority Board,” Lombardi said. “I look forward to working on this board and bringing my years of experience as an event planner as well as an owner of a catering company.”
