Proves He is the Best Choice to be Rhode Island’s Next Attorney General

Bristol, RI – This evening, Jason Knight proved he is the best choice to be Rhode Island’s next Attorney General. Knight emphasized his credentials as a progressive fighter who will take on the Trump administration, protect people’s rights and keep them safe.  He also highlighted his record as a Navy veteran, prosecutor, attorney, and legislator and his record of turning his progressive values into law and policy including codifying Roe v. Wade into state law and passing the assault weapons ban.

In his closing statement, Knight said: “We live in a dangerous time in America. The Trump administration tears at our Constitution and strips away our rights. They lock people up based on the color of their skin and they pardon criminals who attacked cops. I am a progressive fighter who gets things done. And I will fight back. I will defend Rhode Island and its people against these thugs. As a Navy veteran, a former prosecutor, a defense lawyer, and a legislator, I have been in this fight for decades. I fought to put Roe v Wade into state law to protect Rhode Island Women. I have fought to pass commonsense gun safety laws such as our brand new Assault Weapons Ban. And when ICE came to Warren, I fought back by passing laws that push back against ICE’s racist tactics. I will protect you and your family from bad actors and criminals wherever they’re located: on a street corner, in the boardroom, or in the White House. I would be honored to have your vote on September 9th.”
