Rhode Island Chapters of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers and the National Association of Government Employees announce their strong support for Coyne

Barrington, RI – Former State Senator Cindy Coyne announced that her campaign for Lt. Governor has been endorsed by the Rhode Island chapter of the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers (IBPO). In their endorsement, the unions lauded Lt. Governor candidate Cindy Coyne for her commitment to public safety, both as a law enforcement officer for the Rhode Island State Police and during her tenure in the Rhode Island Senate, where she passed landmark legislation to strengthen public safety, protect domestic violence victims, support police training, ban ghost guns, improve law enforcement records systems, address firearm violence, and protect seniors from financial exploitation.

“I am honored to be recognized by the International Brotherhood of Police Officers and the National Association of Government Employees,” said Coyne. “I’m proud to stand alongside the brave members of these organizations who selflessly serve their community with honor, respect, and dignity. I’m proud of my record supporting my brothers and sisters in law enforcement.”

“Cindy Coyne has always stood with working families and public employees,” said a NAGE representative. “Her record of support and commitment to government workers makes her an outstanding choice for Lieutenant Governor.”

“I am proud to have devoted my career to improving public safety throughout our state,” added Coyne.  “I am thrilled to be selected for these endorsements as I continue my commitment to serving all Rhode Islanders as Lt. Governor.”
