Magaziner Statement on Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s Announced Retirement

WARWICK, RI – Today, U.S. Representative Seth Magaziner (RI-02) released the following statement in response to Speaker Emerita’s Nancy Pelosi’s announcement to retire from Congress after this term:

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a trailblazer whose legacy as one of our nation’s most effective leaders is unmatched.

Under her leadership, our country made historic progress to expand health insurance to millions of Americans, stabilize the economy after the 2008 financial crisis, expand access to housing, rebuild critical infrastructure, and much more. She is a fierce defender of democracy, standing firmly during moments of crisis, including in the wake of the January 6th attacks on the Capitol.

On a personal level, it has been an honor to work with and learn from her. Speaker Pelosi is universally known as a tough, compassionate leader. She will be remembered as one of our nation’s most consequential figures.”
