Much More than Symbolic: The Weight of Being a Mayor Press Conference

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – At 10 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2022, seven sitting Rhode Island Mayors, united in their support for former Central Falls Mayor James Diossa’s bid for State Treasurer, are holding a press conference to speak openly about the role and responsibilities of being a Mayor – and the weight of leading a community – while also sharing why James’ tested leadership is best fit for this office. This comes after his opponent repeatedly characterized James’ time as Mayor as merely “symbolic.”
