New dashboard highlights 155 housing developments and more than 8,300 homes since 2021, including more than 7,000 affordable units

PROVIDENCE, RI – Governor Dan McKee and the Rhode Island Executive Office of Housing (EOH) today launched a new dashboard at Housing.ri.gov/housing-dashboard giving Rhode Islanders a clearer look at where state housing investments are supporting development and preservation projects across the state.

The dashboard shows that state-supported housing projects are reaching communities across Rhode Island, with projects in 32 of the state’s 39 municipalities. In total, 155 developments representing 8,305 housing units are currently in predevelopment, under construction, or completed, of which 7,017 are affordable.

“Investing in housing is an investment in the strength and future of Rhode Island,” said Governor Dan McKee. “Rhode Islanders deserve to see where and how we are investing in housing, and this new dashboard delivers that information in a way that is easily accessible and transparent. It shows the breadth of housing activity happening across our state, which has been one of my top priorities since 2021—from building new homes to preserving existing affordable housing, which is equally as important to production—and demonstrates how state investments are helping communities create more housing opportunities for Rhode Islanders.”

The new State Incentivized Housing Development Dashboard provides a municipality-by-municipality view of housing projects that have received funding awards or closed financing through state housing incentive programs since 2021. The dashboard makes it easier for residents, municipal leaders, housing organizations, developers and policymakers to see where state housing resources are being invested and how those investments are translating into homes.

The dashboard is designed to provide both a high-level statewide picture and a closer look at individual communities, giving users the ability to explore the number of projects and housing units supported in each municipality.

“Data is an important tool for understanding our housing landscape and making informed decisions about where we need to go next,” said Secretary of Housing Deborah Goddard. “This dashboard gives our partners and the public a new way to see the collective impact of the state’s housing investments and the many projects underway across Rhode Island.”

The State Incentivized Housing Development Dashboard is available here. In addition to the dashboard, a municipality-by-municipality table is below, providing the number of developments and total housing units represented by the projects in each community.

Please note, in the listing below, two projects span multiple municipalities and are therefore listed in more than one municipality.
