Providence, RI – Over 600 Scouts from across New England gathered at Rhode Island College for the 20th annual Merit Badge College on Saturday, January 6th. Hosted by the Narraganset Council, the Merit Badge College offers Scouts from across the region a chance to learn new skills and complete requirements for badges and advancement.

Scouts had the chance to earn challenging badges, explore new subjects, and gain invaluable insights from experts on topics including astronomy, archeology and public health. The Merit Badge College offers Scouts a unique opportunity to learn from subject matter experts and lifelong hobbyists.

“The Merit Badge College is an incredible learning opportunity for Scouts across the region to explore new fields, gain valuable skills, and ignite a lifelong passion for knowledge,” said Tim McCandless, Scout Executive and CEO of the Narragansett Council. “We are so thankful to Rhode Island College for hosting us for the 20th year, and for the professionals for dedicating their time to our youth.”

The Narragansett Council continues to provide a safe, educational, and fun experience for all Scouts and their families. The Merit Badge College is just once example of the many learning opportunities that are offered to Scouts.
