RIDE partnering with 50+ employers, including local education agencies, educator preparation programs, transportation companies, and more

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) will host a statewide job fair at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick this Wednesday to promote and provide individuals in the job market with direct access to open opportunities in a wide range of education-focused areas. The fair, being held today, Wednesday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., will allow attendees to engage with participants from close to 40 local education agencies (LEAs), 8 institutions and preparatory programs of higher education, and additional education and transportation providers. State Teacher of the Year Aimée Couto will greet participants at 4 p.m.

“RIDE recognizes the importance of providing diverse avenues for aspiring educators to explore career opportunities. We are thrilled to once again host a series of job fairs to help our school districts meet the needs of our students,” said Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green. “We encourage community members to join the job fairs and consider a rewarding career in Rhode Island education.”

The career event follows a virtual job fair held in March. RIDE will host a second in-person job fair at the Crowne Plaza on June 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“As a veteran educator and Rhode Island’s 2024 Teacher of the Year, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with aspiring educators throughout my career. Witnessing their dedication and enthusiasm has reaffirmed my confidence in the strength and potential of the teaching workforce of tomorrow,” said Rhode Island Teacher of the Year Aimée Couto. “I want to thank RIDE for continuing to prioritize educator pipeline initiatives and encourage individuals to join us as we celebrate this shared passion and build a community of educational leaders.”
