SMITHFIELD, RI — July 1, on the Tara Granahan Show, Aaron Guckian made several remarks regarding the age, gender, and looks of Gubernatorial Candidate Elaine Pelino.

“About a year ago I got into this race for Governor because, like many others across the state, we are sick of politicians and political insiders who believe that they can take what they want and are entitled to a political office,” Elaine said.

Elaine continued, “While Aaron Guckian was discussing my over 20 percent lead in the polls, which was illustrated in the recent UNH poll released yesterday, Aaron decided to take direct attacks on my age and gender. Aaron could have discussed his plan for RI and instead he threw insults based on my looks.

“He also stated in the interview that he never offered me a job at the Dental Association when we first spoke. I want to set the record straight — he point blank said that if I got out of the race he would get me a job at the association. A corrupt liar does not belong trying to lead Rhode Island.

“As he is the RIGOP Republican nominee, I am calling on the RIGOP and Chairman Allyn Myers to condemn these remarks. Aaron Guckian does not support Donald Trump and is clearly a very ill man for attacking a fellow Republican not on merit but age. This is the individual they have representing the party.”

“President Donald Trump is older than me and sharp as a tack. With that said, I can’t help but wonder if age is the reason Aaron Guckian does not support President Donald Trump,” Pelino concluded.

Elaine Pelino has launched a petition calling on RIGOP Chairman Allyn Myers to condemn Aaron Guckian’s remarks. Rhode Islanders can sign and email the Chairman directly here: http://pelinoforgovernor.com/emailrigop
