Roy, Magaziner Issue Joint Statement on Discharge Petition on Congressional Stock Trading Ban

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representatives Chip Roy (R-TX-21) and Seth Magaziner (D-RI-02), lead sponsors of the bipartisan Restore Trust in Congress Act, the leading proposal to ban Members of Congress from trading individual stocks, released the following statement after the filing of a discharge petition to bring their bill to the House floor for a vote.

“The clock is now running. If leadership does not move quickly to put forward a strong ban on congressional stock trading, the members of the body will act.”
