PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence Public School District (PPSD) has announced its upcoming Early Contract Hiring Fair, providing a unique opportunity for prospective employees to connect with the District and potentially secure an early contract for the 2024-2025 school year. This appointment-only event, on Tuesday, December 5, from 5:00-8:30 PM, showcases PPSD’s commitment to ensuring the recruitment of highly qualified teachers and filling vacancies before the start of the new school year. Bonuses and incentives of up to $5,000 are being offered, with particular focus on hard-to-fill-areas, to current RIDE certified or eligible early contract candidates

When: Tuesday, December 5th, 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Where: Interview location will be supplied directly to eligible candidates. Prospective candidates must register at After prescreening and confirmation that the candidate meets the eligibility requirements, they will be given details to participate in an early contract interview.

Bonuses and incentives of up to $5,000 for current RIDE certified or eligible early contract areas include:

·         Early Contract (SY24-25): Secondary Math

·         Early Contract (SY24-25): Secondary Science

·         Early Contract (SY24-25): Dual Language/Bilingual

·         Early Contract (SY24-25): Special Education

·         Early Contract (SY24-25): School Psychologist

·         Early Contract (SY24-25): Speech-Language Pathologist

Background On Registration Process:

Upon registering, PPSD’s recruitment team will prescreen a candidate’s information to ensure they meet the District’s eligibility requirements. Candidates will be notified and given RVSP information if chosen to move forward for an early contract interview as well as provided informational guidance sessions to learn more about the process and the expectations. Those who are selected as priority candidates will receive an early hiring contract, contingent on completion of licensure and background check requirements, and will be guaranteed a position in SY24-25. Candidates who receive an Early Hiring Contract must also apply to school-based positions for which they are interested and eligible once they are posted in early March.
