PROVIDENCE, RI – Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos today issued the following statement on the RI Commerce Board’s vote regarding the Tidewater Landing project:
“Tonight’s vote to move the Tidewater Landing project forward brings us one step closer to a stronger and revitalized Pawtucket. I am grateful to the City, the Governor, the Commerce RI Board, and Fortuitous Partners for working together to find a solution that serves the needs of our state.
Crucially, this updated proposal includes an additional 80 to 100 units of much-needed workforce and affordable housing, and explicitly protects taxpayers from being on the hook for future rising project costs. I’m looking forward to working closely with all of our partners to follow through on this plan and make both Pawtucket and the entire state a better place to live.”
