Week of January 15, 2025

PROVIDENCE, RI — Acknowledging the importance of consistent attendance in education and in alignment with the #AttendanceMattersRI campaign, Governor Dan McKee and Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green are pleased to highlight the top elementary, middle, and high schools with the greatest average weekly attendance.

The following schools are Rhode Island’s attendance leaders for the week of January 15, 2025*:

  • Elementary: Community Elementary School, Cumberland – 97.3%
  • Middle: North Cumberland Middle School – 95.8%
  • High School: Rhode Island Nurses Institute Middle College – 97.3%

Special recognition is extended to the following schools for demonstrating the most improved average attendance rates from the previous week:

  • Elementary: Thornton Elementary School, Johnston – 5.9%
  • Middle: Nicholas A. Ferri Middle School, Johnston – 2.6%
  • High School: Rhode Island Nurses Institute Middle College – 8.9%

The Governor and Commissioner express their gratitude and encouragement to all schools in Rhode Island for their ongoing efforts to prioritize attendance and reinforce the value of consistent learning experiences for all students.
